Lacey Township was incorporated in 1871, made up of three older towns, Bamber, Lanoka Harbor and Forked River, covering over 84 square miles. Most of the developed areas of Lacey Township are located east of the parkway, with the area to the west being protected Pine Barrens. A mix of older and restored historic homes and new construction, Lacey is a mixed community of both large and small homes. There are many opportunities for affordable waterfront living in Lacey Township. A very active community, Lacey sponsors many family oriented events including Crabfest and the Festival of Lights, with its parade of light strewn boats. Many opportunities for water sports and recreation are available and the hiking trails, historic sites and canoe trips of the Pine Barrens are minutes away.
