Mantoloking is famous for its shingle style houses with distinctive white trim. A mix of spectacular, architecturally significant homes and original shingle style cottages, several of which were designed by Stanford White, give Mantoloking a particular ambiance. Home to the award winning Mantoloking Yacht Club, established in 1896, this seashore town is considered to be, along with Bay Head, part of New Jersey’s ‘Gold Coast’.
Formerly home to Katherine Hepburn and Richard Nixon, Mantoloking is an exclusive beach community, one of the most expensive .59 square miles of real estate in New Jersey. Just south of Bay Head on the barrier island, Mantoloking has some of the most spectacular houses on the Jersey Shore.
