Manchester Township is one of New Jersey’s largest communities, based on area. Founded in the final days of the Civil War, Manchester Township was named for Manchester, England. This semi-rural township has vast wooded areas and stretches from the tip of Toms River through the Pine Barrens. Route 70 is a major access road through the township, connecting the Jersey Shore to Philadelphia. One of the fastest growing communities in New Jersey from 1965 through1988, a successful effort has been made to manage and control further growth. Shopping, schools, plentiful housing stock in all price ranges, makes Manchester Township a great place to buy a home.
